Wahoo (Acanthocybium solandri) inhabit Fuerteventura waters and are sought after as a highly prized game fish by sport fisherman worldwide due to their speed and high-quality flesh.
Wahoo have an elongated body, the back is an iridescent blue, and the sides are silvery with a pattern of irregular vertical blue bars, colours fade rapidly at death.
They have a large mouth containing razor sharp teeth and are aggressive and ferocious predators feeding on other fish and squid
Wahoo are very fast and can reach speeds exceeding 90 km/h, they reach up to 2.5 metres in length, and weigh up to 83 kilos.
