The Longbill Spearfish (Tetrapturus pfluegeri) is a species of marlin known locally in Fuerteventura as Aguja volona or sara espada are found in Fuerteventura waters.
The Longbill Spearfish is a blueish black colour from above and silvery-white and brown on the sides, the pectorals are blackish-brown occasionally with tinges of greyish white and the dorsal fins are dark blue.
They can reach up to 254 centimetres in length and 58 kilos in weight and can typically be found from near the surface to a depth of 200 metres.
