When fishing in Fuerteventura there are Minimum Fish Sizes and Rules, current rules can be found at Furteventura Fishing Rules as can the current Minimum Fish Sizes.on the Gobierno de Canarias website.
At the time of publishing the basic rules are as follows;
- Anyone who goes fishing in Fuerteventura including spear and knife fishing requires a fishing licence
- A maximum of two rods are allowed with up to three hooks on each.
- The maximum fish allowed per person per day in inland waters is 5 kilograms in weight.
- Any fish less than the minimum size must be released immediately.
- Any prohibited species must be released immediately.
If you catch a fish and are unsure of the species which is often the case then it's best to release it.
