HotFuerteventura is a perfect location for shore fishing as often the water is several metres deep off the rocks with plenty of hiding places for both predators and their prey.
The rocky shores of Fuerteventura can be quite challenging to fish especially when bottom fishing, apart from getting snagged in the sharp rocks fish will take your bait into holes and crevices.
There are a massive variety of fish species to catch depending on the technique used for example;
Spinning and plugging: Atlantic Bonito, Barracuda, Bluefish, Garfish and White Trevally.
Float fishing and free lining: Atlantic Bonito, Barracuda, Bluefish, Garfish, Pandora, Parrot Fish, Seabream, White Trevally and Wrasse.

Local law states that everyone who fishes in Fuerteventura requires a valid fishing licence.
Some fish that you may come across when fishing in Fuerteventura need to be handled with care as they have sharp spines that can be poisonous and possibly lethal. In general be very careful with brightly coloured or red fish as this is often a sign of danger.
Don’t fish where there signs showing fishing is prohibited (pesca prohibida, or no pescar)
Don’t fish off a beach that has tourists walking, paddling or swimming.
Use plenty of high factor sun cream even on a cloudy day.
Take your litter with you when you leave.
