Fuerteventura is an ideal location for boat fishing as deep water is only a short distance from the shore. Upon departing from most locations you have between 10 and 100 metre depths within a few minutes.
There are a massive variety of species to catch depending on the technique used for example;
Trolling: Albacore, Atlantic Bonito, Barracuda, Big Eye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Mahi Mahi, White Marlin and Wahoo.
Drifting: Amberjack, Atlantic Bonito, Barracuda, Bluefish, Mahi Mahi, Red snapper, Seabream, Triggerfish and Wahoo.
Spinning and plugging: Atlantic Bonito, Barracuda, Bluefish Mahi Mahi and Wahoo.
Jigging: Amberjack, Atlantic Bonito, Barracuda, Grouper and Wahoo.
Bottom fishing: Amberjack, Atlantic Bonito, Barracuda, Bluefish, Conger eel, Dentex, Grouper, Moray Eel, Octopus, Pandora, Parrot Fish, Rockfish, Scorpionfish, Seabream, Wahoo and Wrasse.

Afternoon boat trip from Corralejo

Took a short boat trip from Corralejo in the afternoon bottom fishing in 10-65 metre depths using prawn and baby squid and whole squid (about 15 centimetres in length) for bait. Caught several species mostly with whole baby squid (puntella in the supermarket) including a few moray eels on whole squid. Great fun, constant action, lost a couple of huge fish that just kept taking line until it snapped, no idea what they are, maybe big rays.

Corralejo boat fishing in the evening

Took a short boat trip from Corralejo in the evening, mostly bottom fishing in 15-50 metre depths with prawn and squid for bait, caught moray eels and several other species including hogfish up to about 2 kilos. Nothing to shout about but was great fun, constant action and I got to see a lovely sunset.

Corralejo boat fishing lunchtime trip

Took a short boat trip from Corralejo lunchtime, caught a small Mahi Mahi about 40 cm in length trolling not far from the harbour entrance. Was well pleased as that's the first one I have caught in Fuerteventura, there must be more of them around and much bigger. Bottom fished for an hour or so, lost a couple of decent fish, they seem to swim into holes or between rocks. Was great fun, constant action bottom fishing, you had to be quick, the bait was taken as soon as it hit the bottom, had a mixed catch, great views of Lobos and beautiful weather as usual.
