Fishing Rods and tackle are readily available in Fuerteventura, there are plenty of Chinese shops that have telescopic rod and reel sets for a reasonable price in most resorts including Caleta de Fuste, El Mattoral and Corralejo where you can also find hooks, floats, weights and lures. These are fine for fishing from the beaches and rocks and often preferred by locals
If you're looking for better quality and don't want to pay well over the top then head away from the tourist resorts to Puerto del Rosario which is the best place, Fuerte Sport has a large selection and also Ideal Bricolaje the big hardware store near Electron.
Remember to pick up some pliers as many species have extremely sharp teeth and care should be taken when unhooking them.
