Garcey Beach

Located on the island's west coast, Playa de Garcey is famous for the sightings of the shipwreck ' The American Star.' Up until 2007 parts of the ship could be seen from the beach. Playa de Garcey is remote, the sea is wild with strong currents and many jellyfish, therefore it is unsuitable for swimming. It is a beautiful beach with an air of mystery. Located south of Gran Tarajal the beach of Giniginamar is remote with black sand and many pebbles.  It is popular with locals for fishing, and the fishing boats are moored here. This is a perfect setting that compliments the picturesque village of Giniginamar. There is a restaurant in the village and you may park in the small car park in front of the beach.

The long beach of Gran Tarajal comprises of fine dark sand. It is not a tourist beach, it is frequented by locals and ex pats. Beach football is available and open showers and water taps (not drinking water) are situated along the beach. A selection of bars and restaurants are located along the beach and you may park on the roadside in town or in the marked bays.

This beach is situated between the two large hotels in the sand dunes and easily accessible via bus from Corralejo, or Puerto. To access these beaches on foot or cycling head south from Beach Cafe on the seafront across the waste ground, or by car park at the Atlantico Centre where there is ample free parking.

This small beach is situated on the north coast of the island in the busy tourist resort of Corralejo, and is popular with families. At high tide the beach is fine and sandy but at low tide when the tide goes out the beach is covered with small rocks and pebbles. Suitable foot wear is advised.

This breathtaking beach, located in the south of Fuerteventura, stretches from Morro Jable to Costa Calma, a distance of 21 km of fine  golden sand. The beach itself is divided into a number of sections. It is popular with naturists and many sports facilities are available such as diving and surfing. You may also hire a catamaran.You may park in the marked bays along the main road.

The remote Jarugo beach has 800 metres of white sand, and is renowned for large waves. This beach is situated on the west coast of the island and is mostly frequented by the local inhabitants. Parking is available near by. Also in the village there are a few eating places, a very peaceful place for those that like peace.

A beautiful beach with white sand, and calm water protected from the open ocean. Situated on the northern coast of the island this beach is popular with families as the water is shallow, perfect for young children. A great beach to relax on.

La Lajita is a beautiful little beach comprising of black sand and palm trees. Local fishermen depart from here and for this reason fishing boats are seen on the beach.Local bars are situated near to the beach and you may park at the roadside in the village.

La Lajita beach is situated on the south coast of Fuerteventura. The beach is situated near a small fishing village and it's beautiful scenery makes this the perfect romantic getaway. Because this beach is not well known by tourists there are not many amenities on the beach. In the fishing village nearby there are a few fish restaurants and a couple of shops. A beautiful well kept secret. Well worth a visit.

Local fishermen depart from Las Playitas, a beautiful beach with black sand and a scattering of black pebbles. It is located just north of Gran Tarajal and signposted from the main road.Here you can find a surfing school, and you may hire a catamaran, kayak, and surfboard. You might want to take a picnic although you can return to the town where there are bars and restaurants. You may park in the parking bays along the road....
