Las Salinas del Carmen, Fuerteventura
Las Salinas del Carmen is situated on the coast south of Caleta de Fuste in the municipality of Antigua and is home to the salt works.
The lime kilns represent an important part of Fuerteventura's history. In the past, calcareous stone was utilized to create significant quantities of lime, which were then shipped to neighboring islands. Remnants of this industry can still be found in the salt works, and today, the only active site is located within the charming salt museum in the picturesque coastal village of Las Salinas del Carmen. It's definitely a place worth exploring!
