El Cotillo Fiestas 2025
El Cotillo Fiestas in honor of Our Lady of the Good Journey (Fiestas en honor a Nuestra Señora del Buen Viaje) take place each August in El Cotillo, Fuerteventura. The schedule is usually available a week or two prior to the event so the dates are to be confirmed.
This goes on for around ten days when the quiet laid-back village is transformed into a full on party place which becomes very busy, noisy and sleepless. Don’t expect much sleep as often live music goes in until 4 am and beyond,
One of the highlights of the fiesta is the fishing and fish feast. At high tide a fishing net is set in the water, as the tide goes out and the water level drops fish are trapped and collected by fishermen and many volunteers. The fish are cooked as part of the festivities and all are welcome.
El Cotillo
El Cotillo is quite a large fishing village located on the north west coast of Fuerteventura in the municipality of La Oliva. It's not as busy as the nearby resort of Corralejo but has many bars, restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, villas and apartments. El Cotillo has some of the island's finest beaches, along with some magnificent views of cliffs, and its rugged landscape. Famous for its Lighthouse built in 1897, El Cotillo is also the birthplace of the famous footballer Giovanni Pérez Rodriguez, aka Gio.
