Atlantic Chub Mackerel (Scomber colias) locally known in Fuerteventura as Caballa are found in Fuerteventura waters.
They are silvery green and blue in colour with zigzag lines on the back with a paler belly which is spotted or marked with wavy lines.
Caballa are good to eat and can often be found at the fish counter in the local supermarkets in Fuerteventura and served in restaurants grilled or fried.
