The international Kite Festival is celebrated every year at La Concha beach, El Cotillo, and in the nature reserve of the Dunes of Corralejo .
It takes place during November starting in El Cotillo and moving to Corralejo the following day. Professionals , enthusiasts , tourists and students from all over the island gather in the dunes to participate at this international meeting for all ages. It has become a must for the entire neighbourhood and the tourists of the north of the island . During the festival about 700 kites in various shapes and colours decorate the sky of the great beaches where you can besides the spectacle , also enjoy other leisure activities and sports.

The 2023 International Kite Festival takes place between November the 9th and 12th in Corralejo near the Oliva Beach hotel and Bajo Negro beach, Fuerteventua.

2022 Kite Festival Dates
The 2022 Kite Festival is the 35th anniversary and takes place between the 7th and the 13th of November.
In 2022 the Corralejo event will move its headquarters to the vicinity of the Oliva Beach hotel on the sands of the Bajo Negro beach, Corralejo. Previously the event had been taking place on El Dormidero Beach between Parque Hollandais and Corralejo which was not accessible by bus. This year you can get there on the number 6 bus that runs between Corralejo and Puerto del Rosario or it's a short taxi ride from Corralejo.
