There's plenty of parking spaces and it's not too far to walk or cycle to from El Cotillo, Piedra Playa beach stretches for over 1500 metres so there's always plenty of room to find a quiet spot.
With huge waves and a strong wind Piedra Playa is a paradise for surfers, advanced windsurfers and kitesurfers, while swimming you should be cautious of the dangerous tide and currents.

What an amazing beach
Overall rating
4.7
Drove to the Southern end of Piedra Playa Beach for a nice walk, miles of golden sand and hardly any people apart from a couple of dozen surfers in the distance, the occasional dog walker and people on some kind of photo shoot.Very clean golden sand with crystal clear water and it was amazing how the colours changed as the sun set. This beach is well worth a visit if you're in El Cotillo, if you don't have a car you can walk, or hire a bike in the town. It's not too far from the bus station which you can get to from Corralejo on the number 8 bus. Take care on the beach, the tide is strong and you also sink in the sand quite quickly in places, it didn't look safe for swimming but who cares the views are amazing.

Amazing beach with very few people

Drove to Piedra Playa beach along a dirt track about 1000 metres South of El Cotillo, there was plenty of parking space and plenty of room on this huge sandy beach. Piedra Playa has beautiful scenery with cliffs, fine sand and surf that can heard as well as seen, we didn't go swimming as it looked a bit dangerous, as far as we can tell lifeguards are present between July and October. Well worth a visit just for a nice walk and to take in the amazing views, we were visited by some friendly squirrels on the cliff top which enjoyed cucumber. If you visit Piedra Playa be prepared as there are no facilities at all here, just a natural beach.

Wow, what a beautiful beach

Wow, what a beautiful beach, amazing scenery, the tide was out and the sea was very calm, we didn't go swimming, we just walked the length of the beach and went for a paddle, the water was quite cold. We took some photos from the top, there was only a handful of people, along what seemed like a couple of miles of sandy beach, worth visiting.
