Morro Velosa Viewpoint
The viewpoint of Morro Velosa is located in the Parque Rural de Betancuria, on top of the homonymous mountain, between Betancuria and Valle de Santa Inés. It was designed by the artist from Lanzarote Cesar Manrique and from its facilities you can see a wide panoramic view of the landscape of plains and volcanoes.
The Morro Velosa viewpoint is the best vantage point from which to contemplate the Betancuria massif. At its feet lies a vast Fuerteventuran landscape, a landscape marked by the erosive dismantling and desertification to which the Island has been subjected since Antiquity.
Betancuria is the old capital of the island which in the past was governed from there. Hidden in a valley to prevent pirate attacks from the African continent this picturesque colonial town offers a glimpse into Fuerteventura’s past.
