Butterflies and Dragonflies

Butterflies and Dragonflies Hide description

A variety of butterflies and dragonflies can be seen in Fuerteventura. Some of the species that now live here originated in other countries, and they seem to have evolved into variations of that species. Due to the constant warm climate in Fuerteventura, butterflies can be seen throughout the year.

They do however; possess an advantage in that they are particularly agile and fast. They are therefore better able than most butterflies to avoid predator attacks.

Butterflies and Dragonflies  Monarch Hot

This is a poisonous butterfly. Animals that eat a Monarch will vomit and generally feel very ill, although they are unlikely to die. Because the animal kingdom is highly intelligent, an animal will remember this and therefore will not eat a Monarch twice. This is surely a contributory factor in the reason why Monarchs continue to exist in abundance.
