Del Carmen Saltworks Museum
The Del Carmen Saltworks Museum is located in the Del Carmen Saltworks at Las Salinas, Fuerteventura.
The only saltworks in Fuerteventura still in operation, comprised of 10 intake ponds, nearly 1000 condensation ponds, the salt warehouse, the salt worker’s house and the remains of the old quay.
The Saltworks produces fine white salt of the highest quality which is very rich in trace elements due to the cleanliness of its water and the method of obtaining salt from sea foam combined with the traditional daily skimming.
At the museum you can witness the whole process and discover its fascinating story, there's also a restaurant and a shop where you can purchase salt.
Opening hours: Open daily from 10:00 until 18:00 between the 1st of May and the 31st of October, and from 09:30 until 17:30 between November the 1st and April the 30th
